Eccumenical Ministry
St. John’s Latvian Lutheran Church takes an active part in ecumenical ministry through
its participation in “The Churches on-the-Hill,” a community of 9 congregations in the
Forest Hill area of Toronto. We participate in the many activities of the “Churches on-
the-Hill, among those are:
- The Churches on-the-Hill Food Bank
- Advent community choral service
- The Good Friday Walk
- Annual dinner of church representatives
- Monthly meetings of clergy
- World Day of Prayer
- Week of Prayer for Christian Unity preacher exchange
- 2004 World Youth Days cross pilgrimage
- Various Christian education, public service and musical events
